Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color: Something Blue and Heart to Heart [Swatches and Nail Art Designs/Ideas]

Don't you girlies love dolling up your nails? I'm sure most of you do right? I love nail art but they cost so much if you were to get it done at a nail salon.
When I was still schooling, I couldn't afford to visit a nail salon every now and then to get my nails done so that kind of spurred me to DIY my nails. You might be thinking where do I learn nail tricks from? The answer is - through Youtube videos!

If you haven't already know about BeautyAsia, it is only open to beauty and wellness trade professionals.
Like last year, I was invited to BeautyAsia and I was given a media pass. However, as I was preoccupied with work commitments as well as family commitments on the first and second day of Beautyasia, I only went over on the third, which is also the last day of BeautyAsia during lunch time. Did I mentioned how excited the ladies over at my office were when I told them that I could bring a friend along?

Hi lovelies, how's your weekend so far? Mine was great and insightful. Had a haircut over at Far East Plaza (FEP) yesterday. And yes, FEP is still very much a favourite shopping mall of mine. I mean, there's cheap food and my haircut only cost me $35!
Went to JB with my Mom today, bought a bunch of random stuffs and I finally got Green Tea Latte in satchet form! Yays to that. Mommy bought ginger foot spa packs.
Back to Nailspiration, I thought that I would put up a new column on SweetestSins just to showcase nail swatches, nail art or even nail polish that I bought since I love to DIY my nails, not to mention buying nail polishes! Speaking of which, I just saw swatches of OPI Nicki Minaj online and already, I'm tempted to get Metallic 4 Life! Fly and Pink Friday looks good too! Plus, what's better to call my new nail column than Nailspiration - made up of nails + inspiration?
Late June and Early July Cumulative Haul from Watsons, Sasa, Daiso, Korea and Hong Kong

As all of you know, I am always on the lookout for new makeup collection or brands. However, I haven't really encountered any collection that would make me excited enough that I can't wait for it to be brought in. However, I was proved wrong when I came across Majolica Majorca 2011 Spring Collection - Sugary Trap and Bourjois Paris Ballerine for Spring 2011.

As you can see, I have been trying to add in "mini" columns into my blog so as to make things more organized as well as to make it easier for you all to read. The inspiration behind the name of this column, "what a girl wants, what a girl needs" is all thanks to a fabulous song, which is also an all-time favourite of mine from Christina Aguilera. She looks so hot in the video!

Puff de Cheek
Available in:
♥ PK301 Peach Macaron
♥ OR302 Apricot Macaron
♥ PK303 Strawberry Macaron
♥ #82 Vanilla Macaron.
PK303 and #82 are limited edition.
Check out the swatches of the Puff de Cheek below.

Lash Expander Frame Plus: BR666 Chocolate Brown
Another item that I am thinking of getting from the collection is the BR666 Chocolate Brown Mascara. Reason being I do not own any Majolica Majorca Mascara and I have been wanting to try one because almost everyone is raving about how it can lengthen the shorest lashes and also because it is brown and limited edition. I do not own any brown mascara and I read that brown mascara actually gives a softer and mroe natural look. In fact, I have seen a pink brown mascara sometime back when I was over at Watsons.
Bourjois Paris Ballerine for Spring 2011
In this collection, I am most likely to pick up both nail polish in Satin Rose (pink) and Asphalte Bleu (blue gray) and Smokey Effet pencils in Sand Rose and New Wave Blue
Head over to Miss Lipgloss for more pictures and swatches of the collection. I swear you will be impressed by this collection!
I hope you enjoyed reading this post!
Love,
Patricia

Actually, the source of motivation in doing my nails came from my desire of trying the new Canmake Colorful Nails in 01 which I got recently. Indeed, it did not disappoint me. The peachy pink color just looked so good. I don't know but I kind of think that the color reminds me of my Nature Republic OR801 which I can't compare because I left it over at my cousin's place the other time when I did a manicure for her.
If you haven't got enough time or extra money to spare at your local nail salon, why not try to DIY your nails simply by using nail stickers and flat-back Swarovski crystals? It just takes a bit of time and you have got beautiful nails to show off!

Daiso Haul
(Face wash net, beauty scissors, detergent for women and for puff or sponge)
I went to Daiso with the intention to get the face wash net to faciliate lathering because I recall the merits of using Fancl's facial puff to work out a lather. However, as usual, I walked out with more items than what I have planned to get initially. I was looking for a replacement of the detergent for puff or sponge (because I accidentally dropped my barely used bottle in the toilet bowl) when I saw the detergent for women that caught my interest. I don't know why I haven't seen this product in Daiso before. It claims that it can even remove period stains. I grabbed a bottle since its merely 2 bucks. Although I haven't tried to remove period stains, I must say that this product is worth every penny as it totally removed the rusty-looking stain on one of my new cardigan which I haven't worn once.
I seldom rave about how good a product is, but I must say that I really love how the face wash net from Daiso makes lathering so much easier, without much effort! I am totally impressed by this product. With it, I will not experience any tireness from lathering with my palms.
This is how the face wash net looks like.

Next, I am going to introduce you to yet another holy grail item of mine.

Watsons Haul
(Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel and Canmake Colorful Nails in 01)
Even though I receive many new/different products from skincare companies to try out, Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel is yet one of the items that I always repurchase. I started using the Clear Face range sometime back when I was a Junior in polytechnic. Even though I stopped using the entire Clear Face range now, Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel is still my favourite moisturizer. Why do I say so? Because I know I can count on it to reduce my blemishes or any redness overnight. No other product has worked that well for me. I got curious one day and I started reading the ingredients and I realised that it contains aloe vera. No wonder! Aloe vera helps to treat acne and has smoothing properties.
Don't you all just love Canmake nail polishes? I do, for sure. Anyway, I got this particular Canmake nail polish because I thought that it looked like one of the nail color that Dollywink carries but was out of stock. And it looked similiar, so why not?
The last item that I got was Cosmagic Sweet Deco Cheek in 001.

Sasa.com Haul
(Cosmagic Sweet Deco Cheek in 001)
Its so pretty isn't it? I got it because of the heart shape blush. I want the limited edition Sweet Deco Cheek by Kumicky but its only available in Japan. ): So I guess I have to make do with this for now.

The casing somehow resembles a diamond or crystal (so princessy)! It comes with a powder puff wand as well as a small applicator. I am rather keen to try applying blush with the powder puff wand and see how different it looks!
For those of you whom are keen, here is the step by step guide on how to apply the blush.

I hope that you like this short entry. I will be back with good news to share with you lovelies! Am currently working on something BIG! Check back to find out more!

Patricia
Winmax Light Color Nail Enamel in #3
Here is a nail swatch of it.

Doesn't it look lovely? I merely applied 2 coats. Its look like my natural nail color yet it has a subtle hint of color. I couldn't help but to keep looking at how reflective it looks. FYI, I haven't applied top coat when I took this picture so you can probably imagine how reflective it would be if I were to apply my Sally Hansen Mega Shine Top Coat.
I haven't tried nail polishes from Daiso before prior to this, but I must say that I am rather pleased with it because its so affordable and the results did not disappoint me. Somehow, this reminds me of the customer satisfaction process. When expectation is lower than perceived performance, it brings about satisfaction which relates to this case. Haha.
I wanted something different. Hence, I did gradient nails again. This time round, I used Missha Nail Polish in BL03 to create the gradient using a make up wedge. I love Missha a lot but ever since they closed down all the stores in Singapore with the exception of one store situated at Orchard Central, I rarely get stuffs from them anymore until a few weeks ago. I will post my Missha haul soon.
Here is my NOTD.

And of course, what's a manicure without some bling? Hence, I added my favourite glitter nail polish, Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Disco Ball before I applied Like Gel Top Coat.
I really like Like Gel Top Coat because it makes your nails look so thick that it really kinda resembles gel-nails. However, the downside is that it takes a long time to dry. Hence, you must be really careful while drying for it to dry.
Here are all the products used in case you are wondering.

Products used in order:
1) The Face Shop Nail Base Coat
2) Winmax Light Color Nail Enamel in #3
3) Missha Nail Polish in BL03
4) Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Disco Ball
5) Like Gel Top Coat

As you can see, the second picture (on the right) is rather reflective. This is because yours truly applied Sally Hansen Mega Shine Top Coat on top of it. Just one coat and its so shiny! I can't imagine how it would be if I were to apply another coat.
Well, I got OPI Over The Taupe because I wanted Chanel Particulíere badly and all the Chanel counters in Singapore ran out of it at that point of time.

So I got OPI Over The Taupe. But guess what? As soon as I received my OPI Over The Taupe, Chanel restocked Chanel Particulíere. What rotten luck! ):
OPI Over The Taupe is a true dupe to Chanel Particulíere. I didn't believe it initially when I read it online. However, my doubts were cleared when I tested Chanel Particulíere on my girlfriend over at the Chanel counter and true enough, it looks the same as my OPI Over The Taupe. The beauty advisor even asked me if I am wearing Chanel Particulíere.
I am rather late in posting this as I have gotten it sometime in early April. I have used it twice till date and I really like the mushroom gray color. It looks very sophisticated. While I do love OPI for its salon-like finish, I really dislike the nail polish formula which is much drier (compared to other brands like Sally Hansen) as its makes it quite hard for applying an even layer. Other than that, I am still very much satifised with my first ever bottle of OPI nail polish! And I foresee more to come! (:
P.S: Why can't Singapore stock more exciting nail polish brands like Essie, China Glaze, Orly, Sinful Colors?
