Nailz Treats - now closer to the East
Tuesday, January 07, 2014
If you guys haven't already know, Bedok Mall is one of the newest mall in Singapore with Westgate being the other. And guess what? For you lucky East-siders, Nailz Treats is now closer to home which means you don't have to travel all the way to town to get your nails done!
For those of you whom are not familiar with Nailz Treats, you might want to check out my previous posts featuring Nailz Treats -
On the first weekend that Nailz Treats Bedok Mall outlet opened for operation, I went to check out it. I haven't really been travelling much to the East ever since I graduated from TP so you could say that the bus ride from my place to Bedok was very reminiscing of the good old days. I live in the North so travelling to school takes me about 1.5 hours, to and fro would take me at least 3 hours without traffic jam. Thank God I had 2 coursemates whom takes the same bus as me. We usually take a bus to Bedok Interchange to take 168 instead of boarding it at Safra Tampines so that we could grab our favourite Tiong Bahru Pau at the hawker centre as our lectures usually end about 6pm. Plus, we will have seats if we take the bus at Bedok. Fast forward a few years, Bedok is now getting more exciting and bustling with people especially with two malls in the vicnity.
Being a nail art lover, I can't helped but to be drawn to the pretty nail art designs that were on display.
Beautiful nails is not just about painting your nails with the 'IT' color. You know they always say beautiful skin starts from within. Just like our skin, if you want nice nails, it requires some care. For that, Nailz Treats have brought in a few brands to shower your nails, hands and feets with TLC.
Here are the brands that Nailz Treats use -
Bodipure NEW! |
Bodipure Green Tea line is one of the latest product that Nailz Treats brought in. You might ask, "Why green tea?" Well, it is because green tea contains powerful antioxidants to preserve younger-looking skin, fight free radical damage and promote overall health.
I was there on a Sunday afternoon and Nailz Treats was almost full. To reduce waiting time, I would advise you to call and make an appointment before heading down.
WARNING!!!
// NAIL POLISH ADDICTS, DO NOT CROSS THIS LINE //
Disclaimer: SweetestSins will not be held liable if the pictures below evokes any form of lemmings.
Enough said, I'm pretty sure the disclaimer aboves says it all about the different brands of nail polishes featured in the next couple of pictures.
1. Estessimo TiNS & Zoya
ESTESSiMO TiNS is a Japanese brand known for its glitter nail polishes and is popular with Japanese pop idols such as Ayumi Hamasaki.
I first came across Zoya over at BeautyAsia when I was told that Zoya Nail Polish and nail care and nail polish removers are free of toluene, formaldehyde, DBP and camphor hence it is safe for children and even pregnant ladies!
Check out the swatches of Zoya nail polish below. I love how bright and cheery they are!
I'm totally digging 92 and 93. These orange reminds me so much of Kpop and what Korean actresses wear.
If SKII is the queen of skincare, then for nail polishes the crown of glory will go to OPI for sure. I mean, you seldom see a nail parlour (excluding those super-value-for-money nail parlour in your regular neighbourhood - but hey some of them do carry OPI too you know) that doesn't carry OPI right?
2. OPI
If you're a fan of OPI (I know of people whom follow every single collection they launch), you're in luck because OPI's latest collection - OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 is available at Nailz Treats and this means you can have the latest OPI color on your nails!
OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 |
My favourites from OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 collection includes - OPI My Favorite Ornament (beautiful champagne gold microglitter) and OPI Underneath The Mistletoe (candy apple red jelly packed with pink and red microglitter).
If Estessimo TiNs, Zoya and OPI don't quite excite you enough, how about Deborah Lippmann which Nailz Treats brought in recently to expand its nail polish collection?
3. Deborah Lippmann NEW!
Deborah Lippmann is one of the most celebrated manicurists in fashion and beauty. Her products are always named after songs - an homage to her professional singing career.
One of the most talked about Deborah Lippmann nail polish on the blogosphere is - Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday (multi-color glitter) as shown in swatch no. 52 below.
Nailz Treats also carry Bandi nail polishes.
3. BANDI
Bandi is a leading nail care brand from Korea.
Not to forget another of my favourite brand - Orly.
4. ORLY
Ah, those colors look so cotton candy like!
For gelish, you can choose from either Brite Gel Color or Angel Pro Gelly Polish Gel Polish Lacquer.

Check out the mini dressing table that I spotted over at Nailz Treats Bedok Mall.
It so dainty, no? Its so ME! Sorry to disappoint you girls but when I asked, I was told its custom-made.
In case you are wondering why is there a dressing table in a nail parlour, that is because Nailz Treats Bedok Mall offers make up services too! How convenient it is, no? Especially for that year end dinner, DnD or prom night!
Having said that, let me take you through a quick virtual tour on getting to Nailz Treats Bedok Mall. Not all the shops in Bedok Mall are opened yet and there are parts of the mall which are still undergoing renovation. I was told that it will be an integrated retail-residential-transport development (how exciting!). To avoid confusion and to save you some time and trouble in locating Nailz Treats in Bedok Mall, here's my mini guide to getting to Nailz Treats.
Getting to Nailz Treats:
I alighted at the bus stop outside Bedok Mall so this is what greeted me upon alighting from the bus and walking towards Bedok Mall's entrance.
1) You will see Nene Chicken. Continue to walk straight.
2) Turn right and enter the mall upon seeing the first entrance after Nene Chicken.
3) Take the escalator down
4) Walk straight until you see Yoguru and turn left to take the escalator down.
5) After coming down from the escalator, you will see this shop called Young Generation and Nailz Treats is just beside it.
If you are coming from the other side, Nailz Treats is opposite Crystal Jade Kitchen.
We girls all love pampering ourselves once in a while be it indulging in a facial or manicure/pedicure apart from shopping, don't we? After dropping by Nailz Treats, I went to check out Nene Chicken. I have been wanting to check out the one over at The Star Vista for quite sometime and now they have an outlet at Bedok Mall.
I fell in love with Korean Fried Chicken the first time I tried it at Two Two Chicken in Myeongdong, Korea. Thank God that there are various Korean Fried Chicken chains popping up in Singapore to satisfy my KFC craving.
I ordered the 2 piece Swicy Classic Fried Chicken ($7.90).
It comes with a drink, fries and radish (my favourite)! When I was in Korea, I was told that radish is provided to ease the spiciness and true enough, it does! I thmink it helps with digestion too.
If you were to ask me if Nene Chicken is worth a try, here's my take on it. If you like the texture of KFC Spicy 2 piece chicken, you will like Nene Chicken. Personally, I prefer Fried Chicken that has a crispier texture to it. I like the Swicy sauce though, it taste sweet yet it isn't too spicy - great for people like me whom can't take too much spiciness.
Apart from Nene Chicken, I have tried Korean Fried Chicken from a couple of different places which include Bonchon Chicken at Bugis+ and 4Fingers (Plaza Singapura, Ion Orchard).
Bonchon Chicken
4Fingers
I say.. the best Korean Fried Chicken in Singapore goes to - 4Fingers! I like how their Fried Chicken ain't too oily and that it is very crispy!
Aside from Fried Chicken, I am a big fan of traditional Korean food too. Think bulgogi, japchae and kimchi or seafood pancakes as well as side dishes such as kimchi (both cabbage and radish) and anchovies.
Compared to many other cuisine out there in the market, Korean food is lighter which makes it perfect for gatherings, work lunch, lunch meeting or that lazy weekend especially after all the feasting over Christmas. Now, you can get Korean food such as Bibimbap, Bulgogi bento boxes or Japchae delivered right to your doorstep with Foodpanda with 4 simple steps!
1) Select your city/location
2) Choose a restaurant
3) Restaurant delivers
4) Pay
For a full list of restaurants that is available for online ordering, head over to foodpanda.sg. Psst... don't say I didn't tell you, Foodpanda is also available on the App Store and Google Play.
Love,
Patricia
