Burberry Lip Velvet Long Wear Lipstick in Rose Pink and Body Eau De Parfum review

Burberry Lip Velvet Long Wear Lipstick, Burberry Body Eau de Parfum and Burberry Body Milk

What is it:
An ultra-sheer lip colour that is undeniably flattering on all women.
Inspired by the success of Almost Lipstick in Black Honey's iconic status in the US, all shades are completely wearable and provide a sheer colour payoff.
Black Honey made its debut in the US in 1971 and this deep, blackened raisin hue became an instant success. In 1989, when Black Honey was later launched as an Almost Lipstick, no one realized how quickly it would become an iconic lip colour. A precise blend of red, blue, orange and yellow pigments in a sheer base allows Black Honey to look beautiful and different on virtually every skin tone, making it a cult favourite.
In August, Clinique introduced a range of Black Honey coloured items such as the Black Honey Gradient Blusher, Black Honey Eyeshadow Quad, and the best-selling Superbalm Moisturizing Lipgloss in Black Honey. This February, sees the introduction of the product that started it all - the all-time best-seller Almost Lipstick in Black Honey.
Clinique Almost Lipstick is allergy tested, 100% fragrance free and dermatologist tested.

And then they settled down happily and got together for a family portrait!

I never really liked lipsticks until 2009 because it reminds me of older women. It turns out that it was because I haven't found a suitable shade and formula.
I still remember that I was super surprised and impressed by the MAC Lustre Lipstick in GIDDY when I first got it because it feels like a combination of lip gloss, together with lipstick. That was when my obsession with lipsticks started. I started preferring lipstick over lip gloss as it lasts longer and it doesn't make my hair stick to my lips like it does whenever I apply lip gloss. And that explains the amount of lipsticks I own.
The Body Shop Color Glide Lip Color in Rose Pink

Esprique Precious Heart Graphical Rouge in PK 832
Did you spot the cute heart-shaped motif? Its so pretty, ain't it? I always have a soft spot for pretty packaging. Don't you girlies get tempted by cute or pretty packaging? You are probably lying if you say you won't be. Speaking of which, because the heart-shaped motif protudes out, it makes application so much easier compared to normal lipsticks. However, the heart-shaped motif wears off after 3 uses. ): Personally, I like this lipstick over The Body Shop Color Glide Lip Color in Rose Pink because its a my-lips-but-better (MLBB) color. It is such that its not too drastic but at the same time, it enhances my natural lip color.
Patricia says, "Its definitely suitable for work/school or a day out!"

Swatches without flash and with flash respectively.
Till then.
Love,
Patricia
I know you probably got sick of my haul entries. I have been haul-ing too much lately, yes I know. Let me know what kind of posts (Tutorials/FOTD/OOTD) you would want to see over here at SweetestSins yea?
And yes, I totally cannot wait for Season 2 of Glee to be released!
Manicare Foundation Wedges, Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
These foundation wedges from Manicure are like my favourite! I have been buying and using them for at least 3 years, ever since I got my Lancome liquid foundation. I don't know about others, but I love using these foundation sponges for liquid foundation. I feel that it blends out evenly compared to a foundation brush. The only downside that most beauty gurus would say about foundation sponges are that they absorb or rather 'eat' up your foundation rather quickly. But that doesn't really matter that much to me for I have never ever hit pan on any makeup items until recently when my Majolica Majorca Powder Blush in RD255 hitted pan! Its a really lovely peachy pink shade and in my opinion, a natural flush of color to the cheeks.
What do you do when your makeup sponges is covered with makeup? DON'T CHUCK THEM AWAY! You could wash them like I do in the video below. Each makeup sponge has a lifespan of probably 2-3 washes before they are worn out and cannot be used anymore.
And so, I finally gotten my Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm as well. I have been comtemplating whether a not to get it since I didn't really like any of the previous lip balms which I owned and I ended up switching to Palmers Lip Butter Dark Chocolate & Peppermint instead. Palmers Lip Butter Dark Chocolate & Peppermint is really tasty, so much that you cannot resist licking your lips. It provides more of a glossy look. The Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm is rather minty too. For a lip balm, I would say that it does its job rather well as it does moisturize my lips. Not too bad for the price tag of $6.
I was watching a recent Korean Marine look by Tuniez83 on Youtube and I really liked her lip color. Its a very sweet hot fuschia pink, but yet subtle because of the glossy look.
Hence, I went out shopping for a dupe of it. I was browsing randomly in The Face Shop and I tested out several colors which might like look it. And I ended up walking away happily with Face&It All About Lipstick Glossy in PK102.
Face&It All About Lipstick Glossy in PK102
I like the fact that its super glossy and it doesnt exaggerate lip lines or dry lips. I think this would be my to-go lipstick from now on!
Stay tuned for upcoming posts!

I was looking for a baby pink nail polish to make this set of bow nails &I chanced upon this lovely shade of pink which had a little peachy tone to it at Nature Republic. For those of you whom are unfamiliar with Nature Republic, it is a Korean skincare and makeup brand. I first came across this brand in Junction 8 while I was looking for a black eyeshadow &was reminded of it when my cousin told me that their facial foam is really good. Anyway, back to the Nature Republic Nail Polish. Firstly, its really cheap considering that it is merely SGD$1.90. Secondly, the packaging is so nice! For all of you whom know me, Patricia cannot resist nice packaging!
Here is my completed nails. Aint they lovely? Okay, this is random, but.. I always paint my nails while watching dramas. If not it would be so boring because I have to wait for each layer to dry. Well, probably I am just impatient, or rather should I say that I am good at multi-tasking? Haha.
Bow Nails
Products Used:
1) The Face Shop Nail Base Coat
2) Nature Republic OR801 (Whole Nail)
3) Sally Hansen French Shimmer in Naturel White (Bow)
4) Taisu Nail Art Striping Brush in Bottle (Dot)
5) Canmake Colorful Nails 17 (Whole Nail)
6) The Face Shop Nail Top Coat
After choosing the nail color, I still had time to spare hence I checked out the rest of the products which Nature Republic has to offer and I got myself another lipstick! Its really pretty, creamy and glossy! I liked the texture and of course the color which is very much of peachy-orange. What's more - its only SGD$16.80 which is very affordable! I can foresee that I will be using it often due to its natural tone especially for work. The look which it creates is in between gloss and lipstick.
Check out the lovely packaging!
Lastly, not forgetting... a swatch of
Nature Republic Soft Glossy Lipstick in OR2
I love Korean skincare/makeup brands and would love to try out more of them. What about you? I have heard ravings of Beauty Credit's sleeping mask pack and BB Cream, Skin79 BB Cream (which was just launched in Watsons). And, I am so tempted to get them all!
It doesnt really help that Revlon just launched Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick in Guardian. I was so so so surprised and excited when I saw it during lunch time over at Jurong Point with my colleagues. I really like the packaging. It reminds me so much of Chanel. So pretty! I swatched them and I really like Mauve (natural skintone skin which looks like something which I already have), Soft Nude (which is a nude beige) and Peach (which is my favourite among all)! I dont know but I seem to have a thing for anything peachy, orange or coral nowadays.
How to curb my spending on cosmetics and skincare especially when I just received my paycheck? Ah, blame the cosmetics industry for coming up with excellent marketing strategies and constantly filling the shelves of counters of departmental stores and drugstores with new products.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post! If you have any questions or suggestions, just leave a comment and I will get back to you shortly!
XOXO,
Patricia
I first came across this new lip product by Chanel in my april copy of Cleo Singapore. The first thing I noticed was - her lip color. It was like a subtle &very kissable pink. I kept reminding myself that I need to head down to the Chanel counter sometime soon to check out the color. While surfing random make up sites and forums, I discovered that the lipstick shade is in 'Mademoiselle'. However, when I went down to the Chanel counter at Robinsons, the counter girl told me that the shade that Vannessa Paradis is wearing is 'Legende'. She swatched both colors on me &eventually I got 'Mademoiselle' because 'Legende' is more fuschia which is not to my liking.
Back home, I watched the making of the Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick &I was quite disturbed by the fact that Vanessa Paradis has a hole in between her two front tooth. Apart from that, she is really pretty I must say. Out of curiousity &probably the urge of wanting affirmation, I goggled Vanessa Paradis teeth &I saw the hole in between 10 out of 10 pictures. I had wanted to put those pictures up here initially but I discarded the thought because it would probably irk most people out &I certainly do not want my readership to suffer. So if you're interested in those pictures, just google it &you are most likely to see them.
Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick has gotten me all impressed! Why? Because firstly, its very creamy &moisturizing. &Its packaging is so chic. Plus, its such a neutral &wearable color which can be used everyday! &No, you wont need gloss over this lipstick because its has a shine on its own. So no more topping off lipstick with gloss for Patricia with Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick! I can foresee that it would probably take over my current favourites NYX Tea Rose &Indian Pink!
Now, the moment that all of you have been waiting for!

There's two version of Colorsensational. The one on the left is from USA, while the one on the right is purchased in Singapore. The packaging of the USA is so much nicer! But I realised something, Maybelline does not stamp its logo at all on its lipstick except for the little small sticker that they have below the lipstick. Cutting down costs?

And my newly-painted nails! It does look prettier in real life. Speaking of which, I am starting to doubt the ability of my camera. It is starting to fail me. Could it be planned obsolesce? I certainly hope for because I wouldnt want to get a new camera for the decision making process can totally kill me. I want a DSLR. But but.. its too heavy for me. I cant even take the weight of a few more books, let alone a DSLR and lens.
So here they are..
My nails in Sally Hansen's Blush Rush (:
And today.. I went to Sephora wanting to get Too Faced Shadow Insurance. But they run out of it. Can you believe it? I was so so so sad. Both outlets. Can you imagine it? They would be restocking soon so I think I'm gonna lay my hands on it soon, hopefully. Tried the Paul&Joe eye base but it was so cakey. Its more like concealer. I like the Too Faced one because it glides on smoothly. Matt and neutral color finish. Blends well with skin tone.
And, guess what? I finally received my NYX purchase! YAYS. All the way come Uncle Sam. Am so so so happy and excited when I received it.
All of my current NYX
Okay, something happened while I was trying to get the lipstick out. Because normally if you take out the cap, you should be able to see the lipstick. But on my first attempt, this was what I saw.
So I thought maybe I should twist and see if anything would happen. &Indeed it smudged and broke the top part of the lipstick. And gosh, I was so sad. Before you start saying that I am stupid by breaking the top part. But mind you, i kept tugging and twisting but the top part just wont come up. Other that than, I was very satifised with all of the products. Luckily the lipstick which I broke was in deep red with shimmer. Its one of the colors which I like the least among all but still favoured because its highly-pigmented plus the shade did look good.
This was how my poor lipstick looked.
Swatches of the NYX round lipstick. Its scary how much fine lines I have at the back of my palm. :X

The lip glosses were pretty too. However, I was a little disappointeed in the nude pearl shadow. It was more gold than beige or neutral. But otherwise, I think I would be ordering from them again.
Lastly, I get so fascinated that none of my lipstick colors look alike. I cant imagine how did they do it. They may look similiar but are not 100% identical.
Anyway, I have more than enough makeup but I just couldnt resist buying more. Now I am lusting over lilac lipsticks. They are super pretty and girly. I reckon I need a makeup shopping spree again. Am still considering between the UDDP or Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Maybe I'm gonna head to Sephora to check the latter first before I decide. On my to-buy-list for makeup are Revlon Pink Whisper gloss (super nice shade can?), Lancome gloss 100, gel liner (which I seriously dont need it but I want. HOW HOW?) and fan brush. Should I get the kabuki as well? I have a contour brush for contour and I just got a new blush brush. And, I have a brush for loose powder which is really good and lasted me for quite a well. I really dont know what I would use the kabuki for but its real pretty. Grr. Pretty things always tempt me by calling out for me. If you know me, I'm a sucker for pretty packaging, never mind bout the content inside that much.
Alright, back to the lipsticks. Well, I never used lipsticks until like 2 years ago I think. Because I always thought that gloss were better. But they never lasted long, which I feel it irritating and troublesome, having to reapply time after time.
From Left to Right:
1) Paul & Joe Lipstick N #10
2) MAC Lustre in Giddy
3) I Nuovi, Ivoluxe in Lush
4) Revlon Matter in Really Red #006
Top row: Paul &Joe, I Nuovi
Bottom row: MAC, Revlon
Of all, I use my MAC lipstick the most because its a real sweet color. Its kind of creamy pink. &It goes well with all kinds of makeup. I bought the Paul&Joe one to achieve the nude look. Its shimmery though. As for the I Nuovi one, I got it because I wanted something that looks like Maybelline's Pink Please. It was the closest but still, nowhere near hence I ordered Pink Please online yesterday. Oh yes, the Revlon one is real pigmented which I didnt expect. It good especially to achieve the French look. Think Little Black dress with black smokey eyes and red lipstick.
Hope you guys enjoy this post! Till next time. (:
