Collection Cosmetics (formerly Collection 2000) | Media Workshop and review
Sunday, February 02, 2014
Prior to attending Collection Cosmetics Media Workshop held over at The Makeup Room, I have long heard of how amazing their concealers are.
When I saw the makeup range available, I was awed. If you know me, I have a soft spot for lip products and Collection happens to have quite a wide range of them!
There's no other way to find out more about a product than to try it out yourself. Presented with makeup from Collection Cosmetics, a mood board and a couple of makeup brushes, we were tasked to transform ourselves into a Pop Diva.
Here are the products that I used to create my Pop Diva look.
On the face:
I used Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer to conceal part of my eyebrows to make it look as if I have got round-arched brows. It has got very good coverage as it can concealer my brows!
Collection Shimmer Shades in Way to Glow complements my tanned skin to give that summer beach glow.
On the eyes:
I used the blue eyeshadow (2nd row, 1st column) as the base and navy eyeshadow (1st row, 1st column) to create a fake crease as I don't have double eyelids.
I used the brown eyeshadow in Collection Smokey Eyes Palette to fill in my brows and topped it off with winged eyeliner using Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner to make my eyes pop.
If there's one thing that pop divas like Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera are known for, it has got to be their iconic red lips!
So, in order to look more like a pop diva, I applied Collection Lasting Color Lipstick in Valentine.
Here's my interpretation of a Pop Diva look.

Well, not quite actually. The above shows how bloggers take their #fotd or #eotd at blogger events, media events or even at home or offices. #behindthescenes #cantstophashtagging #addictedtohashtags #weallliveinahashtagworld
Back to serious stuff, below is a professional taken photo of my interpretation of a Pop Diva look. Now, tell me how does it fare after I clipped up my fringe to make it more retro-looking.

Here are the products given to us to try out.
Being a lip product junkie, I can't help but to try them out first.
Collection Creampuff Moisturizing Lip Cream
Collection Creampuff Moisturizing Lip Cream in Fairy Cake 3 |
What is it:
Velvety soft, matt-finish lip cream.- Enriched with a ultra moisturising, vitamin-rich formula, the creamy colour hugs lips to give your pout the perfect powdery finish.
Available in four shades.
- Cotton Candy
- Fairy Cake
- Powder Puff
- Angel Delight

This is the first matte lip cream that I have used and I love the matte finish.
To prevent the lip cream from accentuating the dry areas on my lips, I usually apply lip balm and let it set for a minute or two before applying the lip cream focusing at the inner corners of my lips before blending it out with my fingers for a MLBB look.
In terms of lasting power, it last me a good 4-5 hours, between drinks and up to lunch time before I tuck into my lunch.
Collection Lock N Hold Lipgloss
Collection Lock N Hold Lipgloss in Body Pop 1 |
What is it:
Long lasting glossy shine that guarantee your luscious lips are locked in all day. Super non-sticky formula.
Available in 6 shades.
- Body Pop
- Beat Box
- Rock Steady
- Break Dance
- Urban Punk
- Twisted Disco
My thoughts:

Collection Lock N Hold Lipgloss in Body Pop is a cool-toned pink which reminds me of what Barbie would wear. The color of Collection Lock N Hold Lipgloss in Body Pop is very similar to MAC St Germain lipstick except that Collection Lock N Hold Lipgloss in Body Pop is more wearable for people whom are a little more tanned (like me).
I like how Collection Lock N Hold Lipgloss ain't sticky (hate sticky lipgloss to the max).
As my natural lips are quite pigmented, it takes about 3-4 coats for the color to show up nicely on my lips.
I hope you like this post. Thanks for reading.
Love,
Patricia
