I have always preferred outdoor play and this time round, I brought along our art supplies and we had a great time painting outdoors! Read on to find out more about my experience painting outdoors with a toddler!
Potato cheese balls make a great finger food for baby. Besides, it is the best way to introduce cheese for the first time. Like most Moms, I wondered when is it safe to feed my baby cheese. Some sources says 6 months, other said 8 to 10 months. I offered cheese to 👶🏻 See when he turned 12 months.
What's more, if you are wondering how to increase calcium intake for baby, adding cheese to meals is a good way!

iHerb haul #2 - Favourite health supplements, baby food, skincare and AMAZING granola!
Hi lovelies, here's another iHerb haul, mostly baby food, my favourite health supplements and skincare products!
I love picnics and I had always wanted to bring 👶🏻See to one. A couple of days ago, my Mom had to run some errands and I brought 👶🏻See to Singapore Botanic Gardens for a picnic! It was also my first time bringing him out by myself. Achievement unlocked!
When I first heard of cake smash, I love the idea, the fun and laughter that comes along with it. So, for 👶🏻See's 1st birthday, I planned a cake smash. This was ideal because we are still not able to throw parties with the current Covid situation.

Dine in the comfort of home with 8 Crabs
On my birthday this year, we ordered dinner from 8 Crabs so that I could celebrate it together with Baby See. Even though we are in Phase 2 post circuit breaker in Singapore, still I wouldn't want to risk bringing him out.
When I published Baby See's 3 months update previously, I told myself that I would write a post on his milestones and our first experiences on everything from solids to any illness etc. I love writing so I made it a point to work on this post whenever I had some time to spare. When I was picking out photos for this post, it brought back so much memories and it also made me realised how much he has grown! I really miss him as a newborn baby! I'm sharing these stuffs to remember it myself, as well as to share my motherhood journey with other Moms or Moms-to-be on what worked for us and what didn't.
There are so many things that I would love to share about his growth and development during these 6 months. If there's anything else that you would like to know, just reach out to me on Instagram @yongwei318 or via email.
It has been more than a month since I started working from home and here are my thoughts on it so far.
A lot of people think that working from home is a vacation but the truth is - you never really leave work. When I spoke to people around me, most of us agree that we put in even longer hours when we work from home. I liked how working from home allows me to focus on my tasks without any distractions, conference calls were made more efficient and I find myself more productive compared to when I'm in office. While the need for daily commute is eliminated when working from home, I certainly do miss socializing with my colleagues.
I was very excited when Baby See's playmat arrived. I wanted him to be able to use it as soon as possible to do tummy time. In order to do that, I had to disinfect it first. I was very concerned on what could be used to disinfect it as I read that certain products would make the mat peel and tear. Thus, I asked around and googled on how to clean Parklon playmat before the first use. I had several options - to wipe it down with just plain water, to use a disinfectant spray that is safe for babies, dilute dettol with water or baking soda with white vinegar mixture. One of the website even suggested mopping it like how they mop the yoga mats in yoga studios.
Read on to find out how I disinfect Parklon playmat before the first use.
On good days, I go to bed as early as 12.30am. When Baby See fusses, I go to bed around 2-3am at times.
I'm thankful that I have my Mom for being such a lifesaver after I have Baby See. I don't know what I would do without her help. She said that she would retire when I have kids to help me and she actually did when I was into my 2nd trimester to take care of me as I had pregnancy complications such as bleeding and severe cramps.
Some people have the perception that new mothers have it easy by staying home all day but little do they know what goes behind. I have heard of and read about people making snide remarks to new Moms such as 'What a nice break that she's getting for 4 months' or 'She's so free staying home all day doing nothing'. Thus, for the benefit of those whom do not know or understand what new Moms go through on a daily basis, today I'm going to share what a typical day looks like for me after Baby See turned 3 months old.
It has been 3 months since Baby See's arrival. I would be lying if I said its a walk in the park. Each day is a new learning experience for me - from discovering breastfeeding hacks, gathering tips and tricks for sleep training, how to soothe a crying baby, how to make diaper changing a breeze or finding brain development toys and books. During those times, I wished someone gave me a detailed list of what to expect from your 1-3 months old newborn baby from health to development and things to do with baby. So, I decided to put together this article to help new Moms.
**Do note that these are based on my own experiences and that I am not a professional in this field.**
With the DORSCON level for coronavirus outbreak raised to orange for Singapore, it causing panic. With a baby in tow, I have been taking these precautions since the 1st outbreak of Coronavirus.
On the evening of Chinese New Year Eve, Baby See developed a fever of 38 degrees. Upon reaching KKH and making payment for A&E charges, his temperature was checked and we were given priority queue to see the doctor as he's only a month+ old.
The fourth trimester is rarely talked about and can be difficult for new mummies due to hormonal changes, stress, sleep deprivation during the postpartum period. Plus, as mothers, we can't help but to worry if we are giving our child the best. This is why I only trust reputable brands when picking out baby products for Baby See and babySWIPE is one of them.
The night prior to delivering Baby See, I was playing with him as usual. He's usually active at night and wakes up around 945pm. We were playing the tapping game which I would tap back whenever I feel his kicks. It went on for a while, much longer than our usual play sessions and it stopped suddenly and I felt the other side of my tummy tightening.
A day after delivering my boy, the lactation consultant came to my room to teach me how to express colostrum. With her help, I managed to express colostrum and she fed it to my boy with a syringe and learnt how to let my boy latch. On discharge day, the lactation consultant dropped by again to guide me on how to breastfeed again. This time round, she showed me the football position.
4 days post-partum, my milk supply kicked in with the help of motilium prescribed by my doctor. I first noticed it when I was wiping myself down. The first time I pumped, I managed to yield 15ml after pumping both sides for 15 minutes each. I was elated as it was yet another milestone and I could feed my boy with breastmilk! I remember a day before that, my boobs felt heavy and hard even though I had no milk.
