Picnic at Botanic Gardens with 👶🏻See

Sunday, December 20, 2020

I love picnics and I had always wanted to bring 👶🏻See to one. A couple of days ago, my Mom had to run some errands and I brought 👶🏻See to Singapore Botanic Gardens for a picnic! It was also my first time bringing him out by myself. Achievement unlocked!

Tips for taking baby to picnic

Tip #1: What time should baby picnic start?

The best time to bring a baby to a picnic is after their nap! Shower, dress them and you're good to go. Always good to prepare and pack things you need beforehand while they're sleeping.

Tip #2: What food to bring for baby picnic?

Happy baby = happy tummy. Initially, I had wanted to make some pancakes or muffins after googling 'baby picnic food' and 'picnic food ideas for baby' but I decided simplify things by bringing along his favourite fruits - banana and blueberries as well as his Happybaby Superfood puffs organic grain snack and a croissant that I got on our way there.

Tip #3: Should I bring a picnic basket?

With a baby, less is more. So I brought along my rattan basket tray from Taobao instead. And guess what? The picnic mat is actually a disposable tablecloth that I got from Daiso!

Tip #4: What to bring for baby picnic?

Apart from the usual baby essentials you would carry in your diaper bag, I would recommend packing some extra plastic bags to be used as trash bags as well as bottled water that can be used to wash baby's hands or feet. I find it useful to have a checklist to check against before I leave home. Here's my checklist.

Baby picnic checklist

☐ Baby food (banana, blueberries, snack cup)
☐ Rattan basket tray
☐ Picnic mat
☐ Diapers x2
☐ Wet wipes
☐ Tissues
☐ Bottled water x2
☐ Milk powder bag x2
☐ Milk bottle
☐ Thermal bottle
☐ Baby hand sanitizer
☐ Gimbal
☐ Powerbank (in case phone battery runs low)
He was so excited when he spotted some birds and immediately wanted to crawl out of the picnic mat to chase after them and pulled me along to go after them with him.
We changed spots a couple of times to explore different views. This was him when he spotted some roosters and swans and he reached out his hands wanting to touch them!
We ended our picnic by sitting by the lake and enjoying Mother Nature. We will be back for sure!
