Cake smash
Monday, December 14, 2020When I first heard of cake smash, I love the idea, the fun and laughter that comes along with it. So, for 👶🏻See's 1st birthday, I planned a cake smash. This was ideal because we are still not able to throw parties with the current Covid situation.

No birthday celebration is complete without a cake. My Mom made a galaxy cake with The Little Prince figurine cake topper and star cake toppers that I got from Taobao previously for 👶🏻See's 100th days celebration which was cancelled due to Covid19.
To achieve the galaxy cake, we used a mixture of navy blue and denim blue.
Navy blue - Americolor Navy blue
Denim blue - Americolor Navy blue and Americolor Super Black
Yellow - Americolor Lemon Yellow
We used my Mom's pineapple tart mould as well as 👶🏻See's Gerber Graduates Baby Puffs for the stars.

Balloons
I ordered some Tiffany blue, silver and white balloons previously for 👶🏻See's 100th day celebration from Taobao but didn't get to use them so I got more Tiffany blue, silver and royal blue balloons and made a balloon garland. The easiest way to make a balloon garland is with a balloon strip! The best thing is it is really affordable - only $2! I got mine from AZ Gift & Trading.
Tissue Paper Tassels
I love how pretty balloon tassels look so I used these tissue paper tassels with silver curling ribbons on the balloon stand.
Happy Birthday Bunting
To match the balloons, I got a simple cursive Happy Birthday bunting in silver as I was going for a minimalist look.
The cake smash
We simply placed the cake in front of him and let him wreck it. He began by pulling out the star cake toppers and The Little Prince figurine cake topper before getting his hands on the cream frosting on the cake. It wasn't long before we thought he looked like very much like the Hulk.
Seeing how much he enjoyed the cake smash makes everything worthwhile!
Here's the aftermath of the cake smash.
How to clean up after cake smash(Tips on cake smash)
Clothes
Run them under hot water to clean off the mess before washing it.
Baby
Wipe off with wet wipes before applying a layer of baby lotion or oil and rub it out before washing with baby shower gel.
Floor
I got mahjong paper and placed them on the floor with some blu-tack so that I could reduce cleaning up after cake smash and true enough, I simply had to discard the mahjong paper.
