Day 3: Bangkok - MBK, Siam Paragon & Suvarnabhumi Airport
Monday, April 01, 2013On Day 3, we headed to Mahboonkrong (MBK) Center มาบุญครอง after breakfast via BTS. The nearest BTS Station to MBK is National Stadium.
Upon exiting the station, I came across this stall that sells a lot of cute printed T-shirts that have got embroidery designs and even rhinestones! Couldn't resist but to buy a few of them for my cousins.

We had lunch at one of the Chinese restaurant, Shanghai Xiao Long Bao (ซั่งไห่เสี่ยวหลงเปา) in MBK.

I also spotted Mister Donut which is Andeline's favourite! My cousin-in-law loves it too!
Came across these cards which have got different retailers' promotion (some offer discounts or special prices) printed on them. What an innovative way to do promotion yea? The Thais are really good at it!
After that, I passed by a shop that does customization of wedding red packet (ang pow) boxes. I think this is really creative and it would definitely be a sell-out if they have this in Singapore. I mean, who doesn't like a personalized touch for their wedding?
If you are looking for Thailand beauty brands, there are quite a few of them in MBK which I have covered rather comprehensively in one of my previous post, Global Beauty Shopping: Bangkok Beauty Shopping Guide.
This Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Silk billboard advertising caught my attention. I don't think we have got this particular product in Singapore though.
I love the fact that they have got shops within the BTS station itself where you can shop even before you tap out of the station. How cool is that, no?
After that, we headed to Siam Paragon.

Maybe its due to the fact that visual merchandising was one of my favourite module back in school, I couldn't help but to snap a couple of window displays.
We came across this corner that had a lot of magazines on display. Guess what is it? Is it a bookstore? Or magazine stand?
It is.. Siam Paragon Magazine Gallery where you can browse the magazines for free! Best of all, they have got plenty of chairs available so you can read the magazines in comfort.
Check out the range of the magazines that is available in Siam Paragon Magazine Gallery.

In the evening, we took the Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link to Suvarnabhumi Airport to pick my cousin up.
Look how spacious the station is!
I think our single trip 'ticket' looks super cute! You tap it like how you tap your ez-link card upon entering and drop it in the coin slot upon exiting.
I don't know why but the station reminds me a lot of our Expo MRT station back home. Its enclosed so its a bit stuffy after a while especially when the platform is full of passengers.
We had R burger for dinner. It was my first time trying R burger. The burger bun is so soft, now I know why my friend, W loves it so much!
Check out how different the Coca-cola can packaging look. I don't know about you but I absolutely love checking out how packaging of the same product differs in different countries. Maybe its the marketing streak in me.
