Mentholatum: Acnes Medicated Creamy Wash and Acnes Medicated Sealing Jell

Saturday, July 09, 2011

I'm sure many of you are familiar with Mentholatum Acnes range as I remember that they had a TV ad campaign playing for quite sometime either last year or way before that. But I'm sure most of you haven't seen the Korean ads featuring Seo Woo. Here's two of them which I came across and I think you girls should check it out.

Mentholatum Acnes Medicated Creamy Wash

What is it:

Removes excess sebum and keeps your skin soft & moist. Mild and non-irritating creamy wash for daily use to effectively prevent pimples.

Helps prevent pimples. Removes dirt, oil and impurities. Anti-bacterial.

Directions:

Wet your palms and squeeze a small amount onto palm. Lather with water and massage gently onto face. Rinse thoroughly with water.

My thoughts:

When I first tried out a sample of this facial wash, I didn't really like it because it made my face feel so tight after washing. In addition to that, it made my face so dry! That was when I decided that I should just stop using this cleanser altogether.

When I received this product again for review, I was skeptical about it because I didn't know whether I would encounter what I did previously. So I took chances and guess what? My face didn't felt that tight after washing, neither did it felt as dry. I guess its due to the fact that I have been using a deep cleanser nowadays as compared to a mild cream cleanser previously. Or probably because my face has been in better condition lately hence adapting to new or different products well.

I think it is very important for you girls to judge whether a not a product suits you. In order to see the effectiveness of a product, it takes about 2 weeks to tell. However, if you were to be allergic to a particular product, it takes only a few hours to tell. If your face turns reddish or patchy after using a product, please do not continue using that product. Instead, wash your face and apply aloe vera gel. If the redness still persists after a while, you should probably go and see your dermatologist to seek for professional advice.

Mentholatum Acnes Medicated Sealing Jell

What is it:

Prevents acne formation. Suitable for oily and blemished skin, tightens pores, deeply cleanses and regulates skin condition. Regulates skin condition, prevents acne formation.

Directions:

Wash hands, use fingertips to apply it on affected areas.

My thoughts:

Don't we all hate pimples? I wish that my pimple could disappear immediately whenever they pop up. However, in real life, it doesn't work that way. I swear by tea tree oil for curing and healing my pimples and didn't quite accept any other products until I came across Mentholatum Acnes Sealing Jell.

Initially, I would use it to seal those pimples that are exposed so that I could apply BB cream on top of it and not aggravate the condition of the pimple or delay the healing process. Then after that, I tried to use it on freshly formed pimples. Mentholatum Acnes Sealing Jell works well in drying pimples too!
