Cellnique: Advanced Bio Renewal Masque and Diamond Serum Foundation

Monday, June 13, 2011

Sometime earlier this month, I received a package from Cellnique consisting of Advanced Bio Renewal Masque and Diamond Serum Foundation.

Advanced Bio Renewal Masque

Knowing that I have combination skin, the representatives from Cellnique provided me with Advanced Bio Renewal Masque to try out.

What is it:

The most important step for all combination skin, practice this routine 2 to 3 times a weekafter cleanser, you will immediately see a brighter, fairer, and smoother complexion. It will helps in lighten your scars and treat in your acne and huge pores as well.

This unparalleled clay mask is formulated with Bio-captured Fresh Fruit Enzymes and Acids complex. Advanced Bio Renewal Masque works effectively in exfoliating dead cells, optimizing cellular renewal performance and deep pore cleansing, thus reveals a softer, fresher and healthier skin.

Ingredients:

Purified Water (Aqua Purificata, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Cocamphodiacetate, Pineapple Enzyme (bromelain), Papya Enzyme (papain), Polyethylene Micro Beads, Glyolic Acid, Malic Acid, Citric Acid, Tartaric Acid, Tomato Extract, Lemon (Citrus Medica Limonum) Oil, Grape Seed (Vitis Vinifera) Extract, Bilberry (vaccinium Myrtillus), Amino Acid, Saponaria (Saponaria Offcinalis) Extract, Propylene Glycol, Chamomile (Anthmis Nobilis), Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) Gel, Linden (Tilia Cordata), Titanium Dioxide, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Propylparaen, DMDM Hydantoin, Tropical Fruit Fragrance.

How to use:

Cellnique representatives advised me to mix Advanced Bio Renewal Masque with Vital Repair Cleansing Milk with the ratio of 1:1 for the 1st week of application. I suspect that this is to dilute it so that it won't be that strong and at the same time, giving the skin some time to adapt to the product's formula. According to the website, mixing the masque with cleansing milk would further increase softening while exfoliating

Apply on whole face and leave on for 10 minutes. Wet face and gentle massage in circular motions before rinsing off with water.

My thoughts:

You girls should know how particular I am about scents or fragrance of a product. When I first tried out this masque, I must say that I didn't like the scent at all. It wasn't very much to my liking.

Advanced Bio Renewal Masque reminds me very much of Lush Mask of Magnaminty. Like the latter, the former contains mirco beads which also acts as an exfoliator to remove any dirt and impurities when one is massaging the masque off. This makes the skin softer and smoother. Be careful while massing the cheek area as mild stinging or warm sensation may occur.

Personally, I prefer sheet masks or sleeping masks as they are more convenient compared to clay masque. This is because the latter has to be rinsed off before heading to bed while the other two don't have to.

I have been using this mask for about a week but I have not noticed any visible difference except that my T-zone does not shine as much. But I'm not sure if its because of this product though.

Directions:

Use this after sunblock and before your cosmetic routine.

My thoughts:

I was super excited to try this out because I thought that it would somehow be similiar to that of BB cream but sad to say, it wasn't.

Diamond Serum Foundation comes in only one shade.

The first time when I tried this product out, I applied it after applying sunblock, followed by BB cream and pressed powder and it made my face looked like a glitter bomb. I didn't quite like it I must say.

On the second time I tried it out, I mixed Cellnique Diamond Serum Foundation and my BB cream in the ratio of 1:1. I would say that I prefer the second method as it provides subtle highlight for my face. I think that it is great as it can be mixed with BB cream that doesn't contain shimmer, an alternative to adding pigments to brighten up your complexion. However, do take note that you shouldn't use this with any BB cream, foundation or powder that already contains shimmers as it would be too much/overboard.

I almost got fooled by its white packaging, the product is actually beige in color. Texture wise, it's rather smooth I would say. It glides on to the skin rather well.

Here is a swatch of Diamond Serum Foundation.

It provides sheer coverage and makes my skin appear slightly fairer and brighter (because of its light reflecting particles) upon application. It also add an instant glow to my face and make it look dewy which I like!

For this product to work, less is really more because you won't want to end up walking on the streets like a glitter bomb, trust me.

Rating: 4/5 when used with BB cream and powder, 2.5/5 when used alone.

Price: SGD $69

I hope you like this post! Thanks for reading! (:

Patricia
