Bellabox April 2012: Flawless Beauty

Saturday, May 05, 2012

I know I am terribly late in posting April's Bellabox but I really wanted to try out the products and share my thoughts on them instead of just featuring a sneak peek you see.

On a side note, I received a few packages recently and that means, more reviews and blog posts coming up soon! So make sure you stay tuned yea? ^.^

I don't know about others but un-boxing Bellabox or any of the beauty subscription boxes really reminds me of unwrapping presents. Its the suspense that makes you want to quickly unwrap it to find out what's in there. Plus, everyone gets different products depending on your Bellabox profile. For us bloggers, I think the products selected for us are at random because the products that we receive varies as well.

Before you go like, "Can she stop blabbing already?" I shall not keep you guys in suspense any further - here are the products inside my April Bellabox.

Benefit Cosmetics Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation

Product claim:

A brightening liquid foundation gives you a beautiful natural coverage. It features the exclusive Oxygeb Wow Hydrating Complex that will have you looking flawless in a flash. Oil free and SPF PA+++.

This is probably the first product that caught my attention when I un-boxed my Bellabox. Yet, it is also the only product in my Bellabox that I haven't had a chance to try out yet.

Enavose H2Osis Black Tea Quench Mask

Product claim:

The ultimate hydration haven for thristy and dehydrated skins, our  quenching mask uses Kombucha Tea to release a profusion of moisture and vitality that deeply replenishes skin's moisture.

My thoughts:

This is a wash-off mask, meaning you have to rinse it off with warm water after 15 minutes.

The first time when I tried this out, I fell asleep while it was still on my face and only washed it off the next morning! As soon as I wake up, I panicked because I thought that since it says to rinse off after 15 minutes, the formula/ingredients should be rather strong and it might break me out or something. Not only did it not break me out, I noticed that my skin look plumped up! My mom was like, "What did you do to your face? You look radiant today!"

The only con would probably be its scent - it doesn't smell that good.

Kinohimitsu Collagen drink

Product claim:

A functional, instant drink with a high concentration of collagen helps to plump up your skin to make way for smoother, firmer, flawless looking skin in just 6 days.

My thoughts:

As with other collagen drinks, you really need to take it continuously for at least 1 week in order to see results. Kinohimitsu isn't the best-tasting collagen drink around. I have tried a couple of collagen drinks before and I think I still prefer Fancl's. They taste better.

Lemongrass House Rose Absolute Shower Gel

Product claim:

A gentle way to cleanse the skin and awaken the senses. These vegetable based shower gels are fragrance free and made with fresh plant infusions of aloe vera & cucumber.

My thoughts:

Although I pass by Lemongrass House retail outlets quite often, I haven't step into their store before nor had a chance to try out their products. The name of their store alone can be rather misleading in the sense that I have always thought that they have products that contain lemongrass or other common spa ingredients such as lavender or sandalwood etc. I didn't thought that they would have rose products!

The scent of Lemongrass House Rose Absolute Shower Gel reminds me very much of The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Butter. I think its not too bad, it makes me smell so good! In terms of moisturizing, I think it does a fairly good job.

You know, I never really paid much attention to body care products especially shower gel/foam until recently when I have more shower products be it shower gel/soap bars to play around with. It can be really pampering when you come back home from a long day to a bath with your favourite shower gel/foam or soap bar!

Maison Francis Kurdijian

What is it:

APOM is a contraction of 'A Piece of Me', a bit of oneself that one leaves on others. An inspiration that came from the beauty of men and women, from the harmonious colors and flavors of Middle East.

Notes include: orange flower, cedar wood, ylang-ylang flower.

My thoughts:

I have mixed feelings over this perfume. Its rather strong when I have it on myself but it does smell good on my Mom. I don't know but it smells better at the middle and towards the end of the day rather than when I just spritz it on.

I doubt I will use this as an everyday perfume, more likely for special occasions or dinners.

I hope you like this post! Thanks for reading.
