Washoku Goen: Pocket-friendly Sumibiyaki, Japanese Charcoal Grill at Vivo City
Brought to you by the same people behind Udon Goen, you can expect Japanese BBQ and Singa Style BBQ (catered to the locals' palate) at Washoku Goen.
The difference between Japanese BBQ and Singa Style BBQ at Washoku Goen is that eel sauce is used for Japanese BBQ while homemade Japanese BBQ sauce is used for Singa Style BBQ. Chicken, pork and beef is available for Japanese BBQ while only beef is available for Singa Style BBQ.

Udon Goen is the new kid in Wisma Atria's Food Republic. Don't be fooled by its name, they don't just serve udon at Udon Goen. The latest addition to Udon Goen's menu - Japanese Tonkatsu Curry Rice is a hot-favourite among its customers since its introduction!
"The secret to Udon Goen's Tonkatsu Curry Rice is none other than adding Tonkotsu stock (pork bones boiled for at least 10 hours) as the soup base." - Executive Chef, Kumasaka Kazunari.
One of the must-try traditional breakfast place in Hong Kong has got to be Australia Dairy Company. They are known for their egg custard pudding and scrambled egg. Don't be misled by the name of this cha chaan teng, it has nothing to do with the country Australia. However, it is said that the boss of Australia Dairy Company once worked in an Australian farm in the 1940s thus that was how the name of the cha chaan teng came about.

Being a mere 4 hours flight from Singapore makes Hong Kong an ideal travel destination to many.
Apart from being a shopping haven to many, did you know that Hong Kong is well-renowned for its street food too?
True to its name, Marina South Curry House serves different types of curry - yellow, red, green which we got to sample during the media food tasting session.
If you are into old school Chinese decor like I am, you will appreciate the way the interior of Marina South Curry House is dressed up.
Malacca is known as a food haven with tourists flocking there for good food. Apart from that, the fact that Malacca is a 3.5 hours drive or 4-5 hours bus journey away from Singapore makes it a popular weekend destination for Singaporeans.
Before drawing a conclusion that this is yet another post that recommends overrated food places frequented by tourists, don't say I didn't let you in - these are the must try food in Malacca, recommended by my partner-in-crime, Joanne and her family whom are from Malacca! After checking with a number of locals from Malacca to get the green light on these must try food places in Malacca, I shortlisted them to this Malacca Food Guide - Don't go to Malacca without me! (Bookmark this page for your next trip!)

I first got to know about the benefits of fruit enzymes from my Mom. I remember her telling me how it helps with weight loss. Thereafter, I read about using fruit enzymes to clean dishes and floor on a health blog and I also came across a beauty salon chain in KSL Shopping Mall, Johor Bahru that sells fruit enzymes drinks.
Although I have long heard about the goodness of fruit enzymes, it wasn't until recently that I got to try it out for myself, thanks to Gu Ma Jia for making these fruit enzyme dessert and beverages readily available!
If you are following me on Instagram @yongwei318, you would know that 3 weeks ago, I made a trip to Malacca (or more fondly known as Melaka to the Malay community) over the weekend. It was my 2nd time in Malacca and I got to explore Malacca from a local's perspective this time round, thanks to my PIC, Joanne and her family for hosting me.
When Joanne asked me if there's any place I want to go to in Malacca, I replied, 'Nadeje Cafe' without any hesitation and she went, 'Of course, I guessed as much since Nadeje Patisserie Cafe is one of the most-visited place in Melaka that is famous for their Mille Crepe hence it is frequented by locals and tourists alike'.
On Tuesday, I met up with my bestie, Carissa after work. You know, the thing about me and my girlfriends is that we love our desserts, not deserts though (pun intended). You see, that's the thing I love about English. Its such a beautiful language, you could play around with just an additional letter and it changes the meaning totally.
We settled for &MADE at Pacific Plaza after checking Becasse Bakery at Ion Orchard because we felt that the latter was a tad too open for us to have HTHT and to laugh ourselves silly.
&MADE is the first restaurant concept by 3 Michelin Star Chef Bruno Menard in Singapore and they are known for their Hot Caramel Lava Cake.
When I heard that Lady M arrived on our shores, I knew I had to check it out sometime just to try its signature cake, Lady M Mille Crepes famous worldwide.
Since I had some time to spare after running some errands and I was in the vicinity of Marina Square, I headed to Lady M with a quest in mind - to try Mille Crepes cake.
You probably have walked past it countless times, often greeted by an almost never-ending long queue which makes dining there almost impossible or had your Instagram and Facebook feed spammed with photos of it.
Yes, I am talking about the world's cheapest 1 Michelin Star restaurant, Tim Ho Wan aka the Dim Sum Specialist.
Located at the 3rd floor of The Central, it is unlikely for one to be attracted to the simple and humble-looking exterior of Mitsuba by Yurine Japanese Restaurant. Although I dine pretty often in The Central whenever I meet up with my friends as well as my family on weekends, Mitsuba didn't quite ring a bell when Vivian raved about how awesome the food is.
I knew I had to check out Mitsuba by Yurine Japanese Restarurant when not one, but three of my fellow blogger friends, Vivian, Verlyn and Joyce raved about it. Plus, Verlyn told me that it is very reasonably priced too!
Now, tell me who wants some reasonably priced Japanese food?

House visiting 拜年
Majority of the Chinese families still keep themselves busy with house visits on the first day of Chinese New Year but some have opted to gather at one house for convenience sake.
No sweeping or cleaning should be done at home as it is equaivalent to blessings and luck being swept away.
Hi lovelies, its almost mid-November - the season when everyone start planning or looking forward to that year end trip. The most common and popular destinations are Taiwan, Hong Kong and Korea. I blogged about my Taiwan and Hong Kong trips previously but I haven't really blogged about my Korea trip last year. Guess what triggered this post? Well, I was asked by many where to shop and where to eat in Korea. So here it is - presenting to you.. the first post of where to eat in Korea.
As with every other Singaporean (maybe I'm stereotyping but then again we are a nation whom love our food), I usually hunt down the must eat and must have food prior to any of my trips. Today, I'm going to share with you one of the must eat when you are in Korea - Tosokchon Samgyetang 토속촌 located near Gyeongbukgung station. A must-try especially if you are near the vicinity, say after visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace!

台湾吃喝玩乐 Taiwan Trip May 2012 Day 3: Sogo, Hello Kitty Sweets Cafe and Miramar Entertainment Park
On Day 3, I was the first to wake up and I felt super hungry so I went across the street from our hotel to Ximending to get Mcdonalds breakfast while the girls were sleeping. They have got pork mcmuffin 猪肉满福堡 in Taiwan Mcdonalds! I got myself pork mcmuffin 猪肉满福堡 along with a cup of hot chocolate 热巧克力. I think part of the reason why I got up so early was due to the fact that I was anticipating the Watsons 屈臣氏 sale that was on that day (got insider news from the security guard working at Watsons 屈臣氏 and he gave us his Watsons member card no. for further discounts). Did I mention that the Watsons 屈臣氏 in Ximending is 24 hours? How awesome right?
After the girls woke up and washed up, they got breakfast (either Mister Donut, or Yong He Dou Jiang) before we started our day out.
We passed by the 85度C outlet in Ximending. Its apparently one of the best (chain store) cafe, said to have the best cakes in Taiwan.

Thanks to Streetdirectory for holding its Bloggers Party at Blisshouse themed restaurant at The Central, I got to check out the place as well as try the food and drinks they serve in-house. There is no doubt that most girls will be swooned by its girly, romantic yet simple exterior and interior decor. If you are into themed cafes/restaurants like me, I'm sure that Blisshouse Theme Restaurant will remind you of a cafe with a similiar theme - Fullhouse Singapore that was in Singapore not too long ago.
