DIY Dinosaur Lantern tutorial 
自制恐龙灯笼教学

- Cardboard paper 
纸皮

- Clear tape
透明胶带

- Colored paper 
彩色纸

- Transparent sheet

- String

- Fairy lights
LED铜线灯串

- Pen knife

- Scissors

- Glue gun

- Box (I used Kanu coffee box)

Instructions:

1) Draw a dinosaur vector using Illustrator and print it on cardboard paper.
用AI画只恐龙后，把它打印出来。 

2) Seal the box packaging with tape.
用胶带封盒子。 

3) Wrap the box packaging with colored paper.
将盒子包上彩色纸。 

4) Cut the two dinosaurs out.
用剪刀把恐龙剪下来 

5) Use glue gun to attach the dinosaur cut out to the box.
用热熔胶枪把恐龙贴在盒子上 

6) Repeat on the other side.
另一面重复 

7) Cut out the dinosaur's tummy area on both sides.
把恐龙的腹部割出来 

8) Cut out some grass using colored paper and attach to the box.
用彩纸剪些草，贴在盒子上 

9) Cut out a piece of transparent sheet bigger than the tummy area.
剪张比恐龙腹部大的透明纸 

10) Fold the width and length on one side then cut the area where they intersect
把一边的长度和宽度折一折，将交叉的部位剪掉 

11) Attach the transparency paper to the box using tape.
用胶带把透明纸贴在盒子上 

12) Make a hole on the top of the box.
在盒子上弄个洞 

13) Put a string through and tie knots on both the top and bottom.
用绳子穿过盒子，在上方和下方打个结

14) Glue the tails of the two dinosaurs together.
把两只恐龙的尾巴贴在一起 

15) Attach the transparent sheet to the other side of the box using tape.
用胶带把透明纸贴在盒子的另一边 

16) Make sure you leave an opening at the side.
记得要留个缝 

17) Coil fairy lights and place it inside the box.
将迷你铜丝灯串绕几圈再放进盒子中 

18) Attach the switch to the bottom of the box with tape.
用胶带把灯串的开关贴在盒子的下方 

19) And we're done! 

就完成了！

Why bother to DIY you might ask. Well, apart from the fact that its low cost, or rather no cost for me because I have all the materials at home, I like it because it give me a sense of achievement upon completion and also I can customize it to my liking. 

It might take an hour or two when I work on craft projects, but seeing the smile and

See's squeals of delight whenever I present them to him, I think that makes everything worthwhile.
